BBOX AI’s CEO attended Future Talent Forum Malta on 16–17 September, joining discussions on how artificial intelligence is changing work, skills and education.
For BBOX AI, these questions are already part of running the business. The company actively uses AI and is seeing results. As more processes involve AI, we are adapting our approach to hiring, team development and management.
A key takeaway from the forum was the need to reassess what companies expect from their employees. As AI handles more tasks, people need to be able to define problems, evaluate outputs and make informed decisions. These capabilities are becoming a more explicit focus in our hiring, alongside technical knowledge, reliability and accountability.
The discussions also highlighted the gap between education and workplace requirements — an issue we have encountered in our own recruitment. This is informing how we assess candidates’ readiness for a role and where we need to support learning within the team.
Our management approach is evolving too. Introducing AI into a process requires clear decisions about who reviews the work, who is responsible for the outcome and how we assess whether the change is useful.
The forum reinforced the connection between our technology decisions and our people strategy. As we expand our use of AI, we are reviewing both together to ensure that our team and working practices keep pace.
